Last week marked the first week of the rest of my life. Technically, all weeks mark that first week. Unless I stumble upon the last week of my life, which will not be for a long time. Regardless, I wanted to start off on the right foot. There were some hits and some misses, and I figured the best idea would be to go over all of them on Monday’s at noon.
Thanksgiving created a little rut in the middle of my week. I did not go to the gym that day. I drank copious amounts of tequila, and ate a lot of food. The night before, I spent too much money on books that I hope to soon be reading. It means that I did not pay for other things I should have paid for. I finished three books. Overall, the week was a success.
I bought food at the grocery store to start cooking more at home. I have my phone bill completely paid for next month. I got the first part of my novella printed out and started editing. I worked out five out of seven days out of the week. I have kept up on my blog posts.
It led to a very fulfilling week and I know I am headed in the right direction.
This week, I need to take it one step further.
I have a deadline with my editor on Friday to have the completed first novella done by Friday. I have it all printed out, and have went through her edits of my first 10,000 words. Now, I need to mold the crappy first version of it with this new version and blend it together. The deadline is the 1st. I also spoke with an artist about doing some cool artwork for the title so that I can give it the ‘comic book’ feel I want it to have.
I need to workout six out of seven days. I have done well this week making it to the gym and getting things done while there. I need to take it one step further to make this my first full week with Sunday being my only rest day. I will keep up with the body-weight workout three times, and then do various cardio on the other three days.
I need to be incredibly careful with my finances throughout this week. I have one less day of pay this week because of the bar being closed on Saturday. It means I need to reign in my spending to nearly nothing. I am ahead of the game in some aspects and MAY get my vacation pay this week, but I do not want to guarantee anything. Next week, I may be working five days (1 day at the Brewery and 4 days at the bar), but I cannot guarantee it will be a good week. It is go time now. No more messing around.
Those are the basic tenements of next week. I need to write, work-out, and keep watch of my spending. That’s the superhero life I need right now, and will lead to a great second week.
