Rapid Fire Friday… What do I want to accomplish this week?
Charmaine Houck, the Advocate of Adventure, knows how to ask the tough questions. After a tremendously unproductive week this week, next week needs to be overly productive. Today, I started making lists of things that I needed to do. Some of the things were personal stuff for a table-top game that I want to start, while other things are for the blog. Finally, I added a list of things that I need to do for work to round out the entire list and keep me focused on all the important things.
The biggest thing this week is to finish my novella. Sometime today, I need to print it all out and then begin to mark it up so that when my new keyboard arrives I can easily start typing things up on my tablet while I sit down to watch some television. Editing is hard for me. It is not ‘fun’ like writing is, although I know that it makes my writing better. That’s why this is such a huge thing. I’m also late on my deadline of 20,000 words. It was supposed to be today, but this week has led me to need the push-back. However, a push-backed deadline does not mean the next one gets pushed back. I have to finish 20,000 words edited to Mrs. Houck by Friday, and then have another 5,000 written by the next Wednesday. I can do this. I’m a superhero.
In terms of work, I need to be working on all the upcoming events. I also have a super-busy week ahead of me. I have a double next weekend with several events. The upside is the busier I am, the more money I am making. I have a newly set up financial plan for December, and have my entire schedule mapped out for the month as well. That puts me in a really good place moving forward.
Finally, I have my blog to continue working on. The posts come easier and easier every day, especially when one is dedicated to this 100 days things specifically. Next week, I hope to actually organize things a bit better so certain posts, like Doctor Who reviews, come on certain days, while other days have other things. I’m not 100% sure yet, but in the coming weeks I’ll have a better grasp of things.
That rounds out what I hope to do, and if I can keep organized things will easily fall into place. As a side-note for the healthier me, I am on day four of one-hundred when it comes to sobriety. It’s not actually hard so far, but I know working in both a bar and a brewery will make it more complicated as things go along. Here’s hoping that I can get everything moving smoothly and efficiently so that I don’t even have enough time to think about drinking alcohol, spending excess money, or doing anything that doesn’t propel me closer to my superhero me.
