100 Days Healthier Me – Day Twenty-One

I like to talk about writing. I like writing about writing. I like calling myself a writer. So, today, I would like to talk about writing. Specifically, I would like to talk about this blog!!

One of my personal goals in the recent years has been to start and keeping going a blog. I have tried a lot of different ideas from story blogs, to prose blogs, and lifestyle blogs. Living the Superhero Life is the first one that actually has a life of its own.

The concept actually came from looking back at all the types of blogs I had started. I needed to find one thread that linked them all together. I needed something that was both nerdy, literary, and creative. I needed a concept. I did not want to be just fitness. I did not want to be just stories. I wanted it all or nothing. The idea of using the superhero genre for a fitness and nerd blog was born.

This would give an outlet for my various nerdy tendencies. I could write about Doctor Who, the Wildcats, Supreme, or the X-Men, but also review whatever novel I was reading. I could post my art if that’s part of me striving for excellence, or I could do a video of how awesome I think I look doing pushups. (I haven’t done many of these things yet, but they’re ideas). Everything I felt like I needed in a lifestyle blog now sits before me. Part Nerd. Part Lifestyle. Part Fitness. One Epic Blog!

The blog still has quite a bit of work that needs to be done in terms of organization. I have been thinking about a lot of ideas and time becomes crucial in any of them. I spend roughly one to two hours a day writing. Between the blog, role playing online, and writing my novellas, I believe two hours sounds about right. I work for 10 hours on the days I work, or I tend to sleep on the days I do not. Plus transit, aka reading, time to and from Bayonne. Mix in a splash of sleep, and my time is pretty full.

I was thinking about organizing it based a little on different days for different subjects. I have done Doctor Who Reviews, Comic Book Reviews, and Novel Reviews throughout the blog. I thought about synchronizing it with a day of the week. I quickly realized I would need to make time to do all of these things on a weekly basis. I am still working on this, but something will happen, especially the longer I keep writing all these posts.

I love this blog for a lot of reasons, but most of all it’s a good reminder that if I put my mind to something I can quickly make it happen. It’s a very positive idea to push yourself to excellence. We can use these heroes to try and help us shine. We all have a bright light inside of us, but we just need to take the call to adventure and turn it aflame. That’s Living the Superhero Life.
