100 Days Healthier Me – Day Thirty-One

I wonder what was going through Charmaine’s head when she came up with this week. Monday was all about making space, and today was about freshening up. The funniest thing is how great she looked this week which seems like she did both those things and came out the other end glowing and beautiful. Me, on the other hand, needs to work towards freshening up for the new year and make myself presentable to the person I’ll be ending the years as.

I cannot, as the text associated with the image says, freshen up my living space or my office. I am already out of the house for the day. However, I have already started working on freshening up my life and organizing myself overall.

I started by breaking things down and making a list of all the reviews I need to write. I also started making lists about blog posts overall. Granted, this is just a list. This is not me writing any of these things, so that puts me at a little bit of a Cold War with myself. I need to write them, but I’m not writing them. I can work on that.

Secondly, I ate a banana today instead of eating my usual blueberry muffin. It was not as tasty, but it is not about taste. This is about being healthier and actually looking at what I’m putting into my body. I still had my coffee and it was delicious. This is a little bit harder, because it means spending money to have food at the apartment. I also need to make sure I’m buying the right food. Not only do I need to make sure I’m buying the right food, but I need to make sure I’m eating the right proportions. I tend to binge eat because I’m bored. I need to not do this.

(It’s funny how I know exactly what I need to do, but don’t do it anyway. Impulse control is a real thing).

Finally, I need to be doing minor things to watch my finances. I want to start putting 50 dollars on my Starbucks card weekly. This is over what I really need, but it also means every so often I am not going to need to spend that money and it can go elsewhere. I need to also give Joel some money so that he can get us the place in New Orleans. I also need money for all my bills. I definitely need to be picking up every shift I can to do make some extra cash.

I am getting myself organized. The fitness part is going to take some work because I need to actually make it to the gym. If I do not focus on fitness, I am going to be focusing on nutrition. I don’t exercise, I focus hard on what I’m eating, if I do exercise, I still need to focus on what I’m eating, but have some liberties. I do not want to be stuck in this rut anymore.

Today, I tie my boots. I stand up straight. And I start strutting through the world with murder in my eyes. Nothing is going to get in the way of my success. Not even me.
