It seems like every time this prompt comes up that I don’t drink enough water. I already have had my first coffee, and with the blonde espresso at Starbucks, I’ve cut out sugar. That is the biggest healthy change I’ve made in the last two days.
There is an upside and a downside of working at the brewery. I tend to try the new beers while I’m working so I know what their basic tastes are when the customers ask me. So, the thirsty part I got down. It’s the water part that I will probably not do as well as I should.
I need to be looking at the things I drink regularly. A lot of liquids are meaningless calories that will do nothing for my health. I drink a lot of alcohol both at my jobs and outside of this. This does two things, it means that I am spending money on said alcohol and that I am ingesting those meaningless calories I mentioned above. (It also makes me silly, but that’s neither here nor there in this conversation).
I need to find healthier alternatives. Water would be the best alternative. I need to buy some sort of liter to carry with me and make sure I drink that before I drink anything else. It’s a good idea that I know a lot of people use. My cousin’s wife just bought one that had a time scale on one side. She needed to drink a certain amount by a certain time, which was a cool idea.
For me today, I need to just make sure that I am drinking water as soon as I finish my coffee. If I can get my empty calories under control, I think it will help me immensely in my journey moving forward. It seems like such an easy thing, but it takes effort and minor thought.
Charmaine has always been good about hydrating. As I was going through future 100 Days posts, I know that this hydrate thing comes up a lot. I need to keep my sugar intake decent with alcohol and coffee. It will make sure that I keep my body chemistry on the up and up down the line.
There a lot of benefits for drinking water, however. It can help your skin. It keeps your body functions moving appropriately. My biggest worry is that my constant need of the bathroom that does happen when I am drinking a lot of liquids. It’s a problem, and it has been one that I’ve had since I was a kid.
Nonetheless, I am going to be making drinking water a priority today. While I’m working, I will get a bottle of water and try to refill it. I will get some water after I finish my coffee to actually drink some while I’m working on writing here.
It’s not going to be easy. This should be an easy prompt and I make it sound like I’m pulling teeth to find a reason why I can’t or the problems with it. I’ll do it…. I’m doing it. See, I’m drinking water.
