100 Days Healthier Me – Day Seventy-Five

I want to spend a day hanging out in Manhattan. It’s not a day trip like most people take considering I takes me all of an hour to get into Manhattan, but it is something that I do not do enough. It’s funny just thinking about heading into the city gives me a hundred ideas of what I want to do. Let’s talk about a perfect day in the city and in the coming weeks I can make it a reality. Actually, I should plan to do this on the 5th of March right before my trip to New Orleans.

Every year, I want to at least go ice skating once. It’s a very simple thing to wait in line and throw on a pair of rented skates. I spent about twenty minutes to an hour skating around the rink and then go about my business. I do fall. I am not elegant at all when it comes to skating, but it’s fun. I have done it once with my friend Brittany and done it once by myself. I wanted to do it more often, but never seem to remember doing it. So, I just forget about it and move on with my life. That’l be something awesome to do and it makes me happy.

I also want to hit up the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I went there once with Richard years ago, but this time I want to spend some time actually looking at some of the exhibits. I am writing some really cool material in my superhero universe and it would be good to find some things to tie into it. I can use those things and make my story come alive in reality.

I have a couple different places that I would like to eat. There is a Thai place than an ex of mine brought me to that I really enjoy. I’ve actually brought a majority of my friends there. The other is a British place down on Greenwich Avenue. It’s great and different and I do not get to eat it very often. I plan on taking my fiend Shannon there if I don’t make this trip before March. We’re going to be each other’s Valentines! Teehee. Yes, I just teehee’d in a post.

Finally, if I do it on Friday, I plan on going out to have a few drinks. There’s a place in Chelsea that I really love to go. Boxers. They give you a two for one happy hour, which means relatively cheap drinks and good conversation. The good conversation obviously depends on who exactly is at the bar, but generally you can find at least one person who you can easily talk too.

I can do this all on my own, or maybe I will just plan pieces of it throughout the next few weeks with different people. The city is such a brilliant place and all these experiences are awesome. Maybe I will find a museum I haven’t been to, or an activity that would be fun. Maybe I’ll find a new place to eat. It’s all such fun just being so close to the city that I need to embrace it more overall and spend a day just soaking in the greatness of one of the best cities in the world.
